Pupil Premium Statement
‘Child by child, day by day, need by need’
The Government believes that pupil premium funding is the best way to address inequalities between pupils in specific groups - to target disadvantage in order to reach the pupils who need it most.
At Kirkby Avenue Primary School, we believe that every child has the right to equal opportunities and to receive the very best provision that will ultimately result in them reaching their full potential and having aspirational goals in life.
There are many strategies in place at Kirkby Avenue to support ALL our pupils, not just those eligible for pupil premium funding. We provide a rich and varied curriculum, which is adapted where necessary to reach the needs of all. We take every opportunity to provide experiences outside of our school population’s normal experiences. We celebrate the diversity of our school community and provide a ‘family’ atmosphere for all. This is based on a holistic approach with the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils at the heart of all we do. We believe in supporting the whole family and have an Inclusion team working closely together to achieve this. Rigorous pupil progress monitoring identifies where interventions are needed to support academic progress. However, we try to nurture all talents, including sport and music.
