Welcome back to school!

Welcome to Larch Class!

Miss James. Miss Houghton, Miss Ritchie, Miss Wallet and Mrs Thompson are here to help you with your learning this year! We are all very excited about the year ahead!

What are we learning about?

Our topic this half term is Disaster!

We will be learning all about Volcanoes, Hurricanes and lots of other natural disasters! You will be leading your learning to create your own projects in Geography and investigating the weather in Science.

Our first class book 'Escape from Pompeii', written by Christina Balit, should inspire us to write detailed descriptions and our Geography skills may help us create our own weekly weather reports!

book title

P.E - The day we do P.E can change depending on the weather, so please bring your P.E kit on a Monday and leave it in school till Friday.

Reading at home is very important and can win you prizes! In Larch Class we ask that you read to your grown up at least 3 times a week, to yourself at home 3 times a week and to yourself in school 3 times a week.

Homework is sent out on a Friday and is due for the following Wednesday. You can choose something from our ‘Homework Menu’ to complete but sometimes there may be something different so make sure you check your homework book!

We use RWI spelling books in Larch. You will be sent home a maximum of ten spellings on a Friday. Six of these will be tested on Monday so try to practice them at home.
