Welcome to Cedar Class!

Year 6

Teachers: Miss Renshaw and Mrs Rhodes

LSAs: Mrs Doherty, Mrs Cottam and Mrs Fraser

Autumn 1:

Our topic for Autumn 1 half-term linked to the Olympics and Ancient Greece. As we have set new records this year in the Olympic games, this topic was a perfect way to start our new academic year.

Below are some images from various activities we had been up to this half-term, including: a journalist day, gardening and tasting Greek food...

Spring 1:

This half-term, Cedar Class are focusing on 'Space' as we will be having a Science roadshow in February based on Earth and Space! We are learning about the solar system and writing explanation texts based on 'how to become an astronaut'.

If you have any questions about learning in Cedar Class, please don't hesitate to ask! We will keep you updated with our work and any forthcoming events...

Important information:

  • PE is on a Tuesday;
  • Reading superstars - 3 times a week at home and 6 times reading to self;
  • Homework will be given every week, however extra homework will be set depending on our learning that week - this is expected to be handed in on time (deadlines will be in homework diaries)

Autumn 2:

Our theme last half-term was 'Magic!' We did lots of rehearsing for our KS2 Christmas production of 'Peter Pan and the curse of the Sea Hag', as well as fun literacy work linked to 'A Christmas Carol' for a magical twist! You can see our work in our classroom and in the dining room!

Here are a few pictures from our Christmas production...
